Experience Language Immersion
This is a truly first-class language course: a hidden gem really. I had no idea it would be as good as it was. There was a clear plan for every lesson and the lessons fitted together into a coherent plan having regard to ability. Progress was measured and demonstrable; and all in an atmosphere of diligence, competence and a genuine pleasure in teaching.
This was my second time attending ExLinguo and I am truly hoping for a third opportunity! I was here a week longer than last year and just when I thought I would not be able to learn more, they found a way! The teachers were sensitive to my goals and worked with me in so many ways to help me reach them, even though they were a bit above where we thought possible! The program ensures that you enhance all skills and improve at a consistent rate. And in the end, they leave you with recommendations to keep improving on your own. I am so thankful for everyone at this program!
I didn’t think twice about taking the language course. This very casual attempt turned to my unforgettable beautiful memory in my life! Before, I didn’t know how to tackle Russian language because it has such complicated mysterious grammar, but the teachers taught me from the basics, which changed my attitude. I’m now back in my country and still I’m motivated to keep learning this adorable language. I also did enjoy my homestay; I enjoyed delicious Russian food and lovely conversation (unfortunately with a translation device, me having such limited vocabulary) with the host mother and her two cats. I also visited many tourist attractions including beautiful Peterhof palace. Using one weekend, I even flew to Moscow to say hello to my old friends. I had a very satisfactory, quality time surrounded by beautiful people in the beautiful city. Спасибо большое!
I was very happy with the course! With the excellent teachers, learning resources and interesting activities. The school's location is also ideal and is a calm learning environment. I will be back I hope!
I really loved everything about this course. The teachers paced it as fast as I wanted, and in group classes, we had the opportunity to practice speaking without getting bored. The materials were helpful for learning and the "study halls" twice a week allowed me to practice everything I wanted. The teachers were super attentive and genuinely happy to go on excursions and show us the city. The extra activities really cement relationships with your peers and the administrative staff are so organized and care about how your homestay is progressing. Overall, this is an excellent program and I can't wait to return!
I had one of the best language experiences at Exlinguo St Petersburg. In my four weeks, I started from the very basics to reach an A1 at the end of my stay. I would recommend Exlinguo for the quality of teaching: the small groups allow a significant amount of interaction with the teachers in Russian. Not to mention the professionalism of the staff, always available to answer to your specific needs with the language. In addition, the different activities were well-organised and structured, they indeed gave me a deep insight on the Russian culture!
The course I attended at Exlinguo really helped me to improve my level of Russian. The teachers were very competent and kind and the location of the centre was close to the main points of interest of the city. I would strongly recommend this school to others.
I spent 5 weeks at Exlinguo this summer, spending three in St Petersburg and then two in Novosibirsk, and I honestly was so impressed. Right from registering, the organisation and communication was excellent, which made the whole process really easy. Starting the course with very basic Russian, I was really impressed with how my teachers encouraged me and therefore how much I realised I was able to say. Speaking was a key component in all classes at both centres, and because of the really small class sizes I was able to very quickly improve my speaking and listening skills. The teaching was also really personal and so much thought was put into the organisation of the teaching groups that you always felt supported and that you were improving. On arrival in Novosibirsk the handover was flawless, with my lessons picking right up where I had stopped in St Petersburg, enabling my Russian to keep improving without a gap. Studying in both centres enabled me to see much more of Russia and its great variety. Both cities have so much to offer and the activities offered by Exlinguo really enabled me to experience the cities. I also stayed with two lovely host families in both cities, which was another great way to experience Russian culture, whilst reinforcing what I had learnt at school. I’m planning to return next year and I would highly recommend this course. Thank you!
I had an amazing time in St. Petersburg with Exlinguo. Not only did I make new friends with fellow coursemates, but also built a nice relationship with teachers, who were always understanding, friendly and encouraging. The lessons were always well constructed and relevant to my life. I really feel my own self-confidence in Russian has improved as a result. The host family provided were also very kind and caring. I would highly recommend the course to any Russian-speaker of any proficiency level.
When I chose Exlinguo I really wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into... as soon as I arrived in their lovely premises and was toured round (seeing the great selection of books and resources) I knew I had fallen on my feet. I had four fantastic weeks here where I improved dramatically because of the enjoyable yet focussed teaching. The extra events were also great fun and gave an invaluable cultural insight. I would recommend Exlinguo to anyone who is serious about improving his or her Russian language ability. I had an outstanding experience in St. Petersburg. The staff pays very close attention to individual needs and goals. That is obvious throughout the experience. The school is very well-organized yet informal and intimate. Class sizes are small and really challenge you to raise your Russian competence to the next level. The teachers are the best part of the experience. They are smart, enthusiastic, patient, and really care about us learning Russian language and Russian culture. End-of-day and weekend excursions add to the whole experience. Exlinguo exceeded my expectations. I plan on returning next spring. Thank you Exlinguo!
I have worked with Exlinguo twice: once in Novosibirsk and once in Saint Petersburg. As a serious student of Russian with the goal of professional fluency (I now work in Saint Petersburg) I highly recommend Exlinguo. Classes are small and are personalized to students' interests. The company's discussion-based approach, combined with grammatical exercises, is highly effective for comprehension and retension of Russian. I found the administration to be admirably accommodating an professional, while the teachers are kind, attentive, and encouraging. I certainly plan to return to Exlinguo when possible!

In just three weeks, I have drastically improved my russian speaking, listening, writing and reading skills. With much hard work accompanied by the strong teaching team at Exlinguo, I passed my TORFL exam with flying colours. This exceeded my expectation! I am now very motivated to improve my russian and I do hope to study with Exlinguo again. Flying to Saint Peterburg from Kuala Lumpur, which takes me more than fourteen hours has been worth every penny! Thank you Exlinguo :)
I've studied with Exlinguo twice now - once in St Petersburg and once in Novosibirsk and I think these periods have really supercharged my Russian language abilities and understanding. You can learn only so much from text books and on-line resources but if you want to take your studies to the next level then you need to do a course like this. The Exlinguo staff are there to make your life easy and to help you reach your language goals - without a doubt it's the staff makes these centres stand out. When you are being taught by enthusiastic and engaged teachers every day, you can't help but be motivated to learn more and more. From the moment you start making enquires for the course, your questions are answered promptly and the entire experience is smooth and simple. Most of all though it's fun - weekend and after hours activities/excursions as well as the informative presentations in the school (you can see them on YouTube) are all fun and interesting and designed to help your Russian improve in informal social situations. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Exlinguo for achieving your Russian speaking, listening, reading and writing goals and will for sure be returning in the future.
I spent three weeks in St. Petersburg and three weeks in Novosibirsk studying with Exlinguo this Winter. Overall, I have nothing but glowing reviews. From day one at the school, I felt incredibly welcome and the staff were still able to immerse me in the language despite my starting at A0+. After only one day, I already began to feel comfortable communicating in Russian. This was with the help of the teachers, who were nothing but amazing at making the students feel comfortable and involved while studying Russian. The communication classes are primarily focused on speaking and actively communicating and each lesson introduces new grammatical features, providing a step-by-step approach to learning the language. Each day, I was able to apply the new grammatical features I had learnt in order to convey myself more confidently. Immersion allows the student to practically absorb new vocabulary and phrases in a way that is incomparable to studying and memorising out of a book. It is for this reason that I strongly recommend Exlinguo to people seriously wanting to learn how to communicate in Russian (quickly). I was able to reach A1+/A2- in only six weeks, giving me a fantastic foundation to continue my independent study of the language back home. My level of confidence in communication is not something I could have accomplished purely through self-study. Behind the scenes, the school runs like clockwork. The organisation of my visa, accomodation, lessons, school activities, and more was dealt with quickly and without inconvenience. Any problem you may have is, quite literally, dealt with the second you communicate them; the staff makes it very clear that they truly care about adapting to what works best for the student. This (alongside the delicious cookies and tea provided) makes coming to the school five days a week a pleasure. Aside from the school itself, I stayed with a host family both in St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk. This not only allowed me to practice my Russian outside of class, but also experience how Russians live, which I consider an important part of immersion. Plus, coming home to a family providing home-cooked meals, conversation, and even pets (under request) was very comforting for someone like me, who has little experience being away from home. Having a host family allowed me to form connections with Russians and even form friendships, which is priceless to me. All in all, my experience with both Exlinguo schools proved to not only be extremely beneficial for my Russian language skills, but it also made me feel comfortable in the country of Russia. For this reason, I strongly recommend the school to anyone wanting to learn Russian through immersion.
The Exlinguo course in St. Petersburg was a once in a lifetime experience. From the very first day, I felt comfortable practicing my intermediate language skills, which can be scary! The teachers were always professional and prepared, ensuring that we got the most out of our classes each day. I particularly loved the teachers enthusiasm in sharing Russian culture as well. I would recommend the training center and homestay to anyone interested in practicing or advancing their Russian language skills!
Learning Russian with Exlinguo for two weeks was a fruitful and memorable experience. The center is located in heart of the city and host families or accommodation can be arranged by the center within walking distance from the center. The entire area is replete with historical and modern attractions and one can not have enough of it, as there are innumerable restaurants, cinemas, museums, and places of interest. Teachers and staff are extremely helpful. Teaching method is interactive and takes care of your level. It is mixed with activities, excursions and interesting presentation about Russian cuisine, beverages, and musical trends. I would highly recommend this language school for anyone who wishes to learn Russian at any level.
I spent four weeks at Exlinguo and the experience was excellent on all levels. The teachers were well-prepared and patient, the programme was very well organized and there was a good balance of academic work and activities that were offered throughout each of the four weeks. I lived with a host family for two weeks and in a flat for the following two weeks. Both were very good experiences. From the point of application to obtaining the visas and the transport to and from the airport, Exlinguo was very organised and supportive. The school is so centrally located, and St. Petersburg is such a beautiful, safe and vibrant place to spend time. It was easy to find a nearby gym, concerts, opera, ballet, good shops, cafes and nightlife - all within walking distance. The staff at the school were very helpful in providing directions and advice on seeing what the city has to offer. I plan to return to Exlinguo to continue my Russian studies.
Exlinguo is an excellent language centre, the teachers were so helpful, encouraging and it was the best environment to learn such a difficult language, I'd highly recommend to anyone looking to study Russian.
Exlinguo is a great choice if you are looking to learn the Russian language. The teachers are professional, helpful, and exceptional at their jobs. You get the chance to explore Saint Petersburg and within a month, will be able to carry on basic conversations with Russian people. While this is a difficult language to learn, Exlinguo provides useful resources and activities to help you learn the language well. It was great to meet the other students who had come from many different countries. Living with the host family provided gives you the chance to experience normal Russian life and to practice what you learn in class each day. Overall, this was an amazing experience that I would love to come back and do again some day.
My 2 weeks attendance to the institute was rather helpful and improve mostly my speaking ability and grammar. The professionalism of teachers and the method of teaching was of high standard. I wish I had the opportunity to prolong my attendance, but I am planning to organize my attendance definitely next year for a longer period. I will highly recommended it to my friends.
In the midst of all the political things going on between Russia and the United States, some Americans don't know much about Russia besides what they read in the news. When I told my friends I was going to Russia, a few asked me if I was going to be safe. Even I wasn't completely sure. But now, I can reassure my friends that Russia is a very safe and friendly place to visit..Just learn a few sentences of Russian before going! I had a great experience here, and I'm proudly now an A1- level speaker. Every teacher there is great, but I will highlight both Natalias, both Elizabetas, Anna, Olga, and Darya since I got to interact with them.
Exlinguo helped me to improve very fast my conversation skills. In a short time I appreciated a very good progress and I feel much more confident to continue learning Russian.
The language centre, course, teachers and organisation are all excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed studying with Exlinguo and staying with my Russian host, which allowed me to get more Russian practice and to see a little bit of day-to-day life.
